A special memorial service was held on this spot on July 30, 1970 and in May of the following year the stone monument (a replica of the one erected to the memory of those lost in the Ste. As the four-engine DC-8-63 jet cleared the end of the runway, it suddenly dropped, hitting the tarmac with a stomach-wrenching thud, rebounded, powered up and roared into the morning sky desperately seeking a second try. It was Toronto's worst ever airline disaster 1.. A total of 49 identified and three unidentified victims of the ill-fated Flight 621 are buried here. OMG!!!! In fact the whole group of "crash chasers" that go to crash sites decades later also can not easily explain it.

I was 5 years old and living in West Vancouver the morning Air Canada 621 crashed 2000 miles away in Toronto. It was flying on a Montreal–Toronto–Los Angeles route.
I can't really tell you, but it does. Canadi>nBoy, I just went over the crash transcript, "Report to the Board of Inquiry, of Air Canada 621, July 5, 1970, CF-TIW" and there were only 6 Flight Attendants aboard. This particular crash has always intrigued and haunted me.
